Students who lend a direct federal loan must complete a promissory federal direct loan master (MPN) note before they can pay credit money. Once a direct federal MPN is completed and the loan has been paid into your student account, you do not need to re-sign the direct mpn (it is valid for 10 years once your first loan is paid). MpN is an agreement to repay your direct loans as well as accrued interest and fees. It also explains the terms of your loans. You must sign a Promissory Note Master (MPN) before obtaining a direct loan. To complete the direct federal MPN, visit studentaid.gov.
