I’m a sportscaster, or more accurately, a play-by-play broadcaster. That’s not to say I do not enjoy other facets of sports broadcasting (voiceover, updates, on-site/studio hosting, reporting, etc.), but I am most at home when there is a game unfolding in front of me. I’ve been calling games for a long time, and some people even think that I am pretty good at it.
Currently I am in my eighth season of broadcasting games for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in the American Hockey League (AHL), the top affiliate of the New York Islanders. I’ve also served on broadcast crews for NHL Pre-Season Games, anchored online coverage of the 2011 and 2012 NHL Draft for Islanders TV, anchored intermission segments on New York Islanders/MSG telecasts, produce weekly segments for AHL Live, and broadcast the Women’s Big East Basketball Tournament to name just a few of my many assignments over the years. And yet, it’s never enough. I’m always looking to call another game, sometimes to the chagrin of my wife and pug.
I will be utilizing this site in a number of ways, as a platform for my upcoming broadcast work, as a home for my highlight reels, the occasional soundboard for my hockey and broadcast related thoughts and the hub for my social media related activities. And I’ll probably update this page too, when I have an opportunity (re: when I am not calling a game) to replace this with something more eloquent. Until then, I have prep to do!
